Cleaning headers

I have a set of Hooker Headers and the collectors look like crap.

What products do you use to clean them up just to make them look a little better?

They were coated when new but over time they all seem to get rusty near the collectors.

What works to clean aluminum up and make them look a little newer?

One other thing is they are still on the car.

If they're rusting, then they're not aluminum, are they?

We're they coated at one time - like with "Jet Hot" or something? If so, all you can do is have them sand blasted and recoated.

In the meantime you could take a wire brush to the rusty spots and hit them with some high temp paint......
