How big a job is it to replace the bushings on the clutch shaft on a stock '36 Ford. Does the tranny need to come out?

  2. Wow, if you have to ask a question like that, are you sure you should be working on your car?
The answer is, not only yes, but hell yes

  6. Well, where's your clear and concise answer, Werner Von Braun?
Who thinks you can get a bushing off of a shaft, that is captured on both ends???? I suppose you can get the tubes out of a tire without breaking the bead, or you can stick new rings down the sparkplug hole.

As a casual observer of this little dust up, I'd point out that the OP's question WAS answered in post #2, and the question posed in return was fair, given the implied level of mechanical comprehension of the OP.

And better yet........the reply in post #6, in response to the comment in post #4, was funny and spot on. :D

Post #5 provides an avenue for more detailed information should the OP wish to pursue this.

The HAMB is not always 'politically correct' and sarcasm has been known to be found here.
