64' chevy II needs a good clutch fork. what are some options? Bought some so called "heavy duty" fork from speedway not thinking it could have been Chinese. The rivet popped out of the spring while i was installing the trans..... I was little nervous when I saw a Taiwan sticker on it.... seems like I don't have alot of options of forks for that car when I looking around on websites, unless i missed something?.... anybody have any ideas?
Original Chevy II (7 o'clock exit) belhousing or otherwise? Novas require very specific style of clutch linkage parts because of the close quarters. Lakewood makes a nice generic application fork, (see link below). May be too long to clear stock Nova floorpan. Do you know about this group? https://www.stevesnovasite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=210256 Older thread but may help. Lakewood here: https://www.jegs.com/i/Lakewood/620/15500/10002/-1? I saw those generic forks but hesitated knowing tight clearance/ geometry issue. I am using a lakewood scatter shield and block plate with a adjstl. lakewood pivot ball. Ill probably go that route.
I'm having a problem understanding the rivet popped out. The fork and the spring both go in the groove on the TO bearing. Did he try to wedge the spring part to the back side of the TO lip?
All good stuff. Is it the Lakewood scattershield with the Chevy II specific part number? Jimmy six is right, its possible to install the t.o. bearing into the fork wrong.
