I finally cut the old headlight brackets off the top of the shock mounts and welded up the holes. I finished up the welding on the new headlight bar, just need to paint it now so I can get the headlights back on. The cool thing about mounting the headlight bar to the shock bolt is I can easily run no headlights... but I do like it better with them.

A few updates getting ready for the TRJ show. Finally put a parking brake in. I got a lokar kit, so easy to install and works great. I put it under the seat so you can't see but I can still grab it if needed. I also found that the rear brakes were not doing much. They were not assembled correctly. All fixed. Also got new drums in the back, the ones I had were very thin so they couldn't be turned. I was told when building that 1957 9" ford drums were hard to find. Didn't for myself until this week, pretty easy to find. The brakes were good before now I can stop on a dime! I also made a new front spreader bar, thinner and shaped to match the headlight bar.

Great weekend at the Rodder's Journal Revival. Here are a few pictures of my car before we left and during the trip. I used my top pattern for a makeshift top, good thing because it rained most of the trip up. My wife is a trooper for sure. I just put the top in the hotel when we checked in. 9-27-14 (9).jpeg 9-27-14 (8).jpeg 9-27-14 (10).jpeg 9-27-14 (11).jpeg

9-27-14 (1).jpeg 9-27-14 (3).jpeg I wanted to get my trans hump pinstriped, but Tuki @tukipaintsit thought it should have coal bin lettering instead. This guy is good.
