finished the "pattern top" and side curtains a while ago, been driving it all the time. I'll remake it better in black later.

I had to send one of my front tires back to coker to get it replaced... in the mean time I am running the 17" wires with firestones. image (3).jpeg image (4).jpeg

My top has been fading to a purpleish/gray so I decided to try spraying it with fabric/vinyl paint from Napa. I taped off the window and snaps and let it fly. Not too bad for a rattle can. I figured if it turned out horrible I would just leave it off until I got the real one done :)

    Matt,
Which tires are those and sizes? Think i'm going to switch to radials.

  12. Got rid of my new Coker bias ply tires(on my avatar) and got radials, not Coker, made a world of difference.

  13. This has been a great thread, enjoyed it, good job!

Great! Can't beat the look of Bias, but can't beat driving on radials ;-)

We basically went as far west as Tucumcari NM, as far east as Tulsa. Great fun.

Updated a few things. The trans was leaking real bad, ended up having it rebuilt (it was a $60 trans from craigslist, turns out it was on its last legs). I replaced the chrome trans pan with steel, as well as the engine oil pan and timing cover with plain steel painted black. No leaks now. I did a little work to the grill cutting holes at the bottom for the crank hole etc, makes it look more like a real shell. I have always planned on this car being shiny one day, which is why the entire chassis is powder coated gloss black. I tried buffing the satin paint on the inside of the door, looked pretty darn good.... so I wet sanded up to 2000 grit and buffed the entire car. The paint is a little thin in a few spots but it gives it some character. A few other small things fixed... back on the road! IMG_1236.JPG IMG_0891.JPG IMG_1358.JPG
