Very cool Ryan! I tried to find it on a Sandborn Fire map collection and the lot was vacant in 1920 so was built after. That's pretty cool to find the building and make the connection. I remember the first installment in the Cochran Saga and I'll wait for the next one, too. I've used Goole Maps and their Street View to check out houses that I owned or stayed and towns that I lived in up to 75 years ago. It's always a treat to find a building and not an empty lot. It's a great app to have and use but sometimes I wonder how many ways Google is picking our bones for info and how they use it.
My family seems to have no history before my Grandfather, he never spoke of his family. Obviously there was something he was not happy about, so he NEVER spoke of his family! Ryan you are very lucky to have a family with a cool past. KK

That´s some pretty cool history! I´ll second the idea of bringing a metal detector. My family has been living on our property since 1910 and you can´t imagine what can be found in the soil after all those years.
I feel your pain. I have tried to find my great grandparents Coshow Grocery Store in OKC. Roads get rerouted and buildings razed in the name of progress.
Have you tried looking on Antique Aerials? https://www.historicaerials.com/viewer Looks like they have an aerial view from 1957. I think I can see it, south side of 10th, just East of that old RR that goes North/South. Looks like before the front addition was added. Free version is pretty pixelated.
That’s too cool! Can’t wait for the update. when I was a teenager I went to Italy on a family trip and got to visit the “family farm house” the farm was sold by my grand parents but they kept the house and my oldest aunt never left Italy and still had the house. got to visit it and it was in the family for a bunch of generations back into the early 1800’s just a great feeling being in there.
Yeah... My Grandpa died in 1957 at the age of 49 after having a heart attack. So this overhead was taken the year that my grandmother sold the building. Yes, I tend to go overboard when I research: I've dug so deep on my great uncle Frank Cochran and the outlaw cars that he built, that I've considered writing a book about it. I think that's something I'll do when I'm retired.
