Yesterday I rode up to York PA for the final day of the Street Rod Nationals.. I went to see the Dave Thomas 35 Chevy in person, now that it's all painted in it's full glory. Just look at the fit, finish, gaps, panel alignment, etc. Cody Walls really hit a home run with this build. Front and back: While I was there, Dave (the owner) got called up to the winners circle, the car received a Pro's Pick award.. Pictures don't do it justice. I think the next show they're taking it to will be GoodGuys Columbus, if any of you are local there be sure to check it out!!
Well, it is a work of art with fabulous craftsmanship and attention to detail. The crime for me is that it is not going to be driven much and will be towed around, the owner answering the same questions over and over about the build. I guess you could say it is an investment. Sitting around at car shows and waiting for trophies is not my cup of tea. Beautiful car.
The thing about the 35 Chevy and dave the owner is he drives his stuff , he put 70,000 miles on this car before I started to redo car . Yes this car has been trailed this year to the shows and we hit a lot of them , but also we drove this car quite a bit . Including taking it on the hot rod of the year comp for Goodguys wich including 100mile road trip around heavy traffic in Nashville on a Friday and we also took it down the track. It did well and all of this was done with only having 130 miles on the fresh build , yes this is a nice car but it also going to be driven
When Gene Winfield thinks it´s time to take a photo of the car you built, you probably did not screw up, hahahahaha Congrats , Cody, you did an outstanding job. Just beautiful in every detail
