...where does Ski Doo factor into this Hotrod? There is a saying 23 skidoo...I gotta snoop...

    Quoted...

23 skidoo (sometimes 23 skiddoo) is an American slang phrase generally referring to leaving quickly, being forced to leave quickly by someone else, or taking advantage of a propitious opportunity to leave. Popularized during the early 20th century, the exact origin of the phrase is uncertain.

    Go Fast...get it...

  3. Gee @Stogy if you wanna leave you can leave in a taxi , if you can’t leave in a taxi leave in a huff, if that’s too soon you can leave in a minute and a huff. Hehe.

This is post the image Cody posted...but how different was it at that point? The front is obscured...as its a side profile...I see the nerf bumpers though...

Put it this way I’m a sticker for the details I’m even going as far as looking for royal masters tires .
But my goal is it to look identical to the car craft cover

That is beautiful...a class act indeed...thank you for taking this journey on...the Art of Hotrod/Custom is like a walk through a Gearhead Art Gallery...hugely diverse...purpose built is a very winding ever expanding road of eye candy, a symphony of tones and fumes of many flavors...and bias plies are kinda fitting too...

The front edge of those fenders looks like 30-31. Might want to research that as it could save you a few hundred dollars.

From the research they are 30-31 front fenders extend further down . Running board an rear fender are handmade

A Hamber in BC just aquired a unique deuce 2 dr that was probably inspired by this Stuckey Hotrod...

  15. Not the full custom shell? Without that, the nerf bar/headlights will look out of place. Bummer....

So I’m having a little trouble trying to figure out what a couple of things are on the car that I can’t seem to find out anywhere. Trying to track down some the right parts I don’t have yet .

    things like. Steering box
Front Axel . I know later on they went to a tube but on the first version it’s not clear
Steering wheel I see side profile pictures but can’t tell really make out what it is .
Also it’s says early on there was a couple different motors in the car . I’ve seen photos of a flathead an it says also an early desoto hemi . But nothing was specific on the size .

any info would greatly be appreciated

    thanks

I'm sure you have the experience and knowledge, so I hope you are able to track down every picture there is online, set them up chronologically, and blow up the ones that provide the era and details you want to build.
I'd guess you've seen these, but if not here's some stuff.

and don't forget modeler's forums. They often document stuff very well. Here's one that doesn't have anything to help you, but there are probably more...

    EDIT one more

Not many build threads on here anymore so I am in for the ride for a while. We got enough traditional 32 sedans to go around. Need some fresh takes on old customs. Get her done! Larry

I took love the channelled/full fendered early 30's cars, looking forward to following along here to. Was only looking at your Wagon in TRJ over the last day or so!

Wasn’t the steering wheel a Mercury piece? And in the picture with the fancy stripes it looks like a tube front axle?
