Sounds like Cody’s due a visit to koolsville.

Maybe McPhail can host a gathering at the shop for some guys with first hand knowledge to meet
    up?

Might be prime for one of @travisfromkansas round table episodes of chrome pipes and pinstripes so it’s all documented

I had to smile when I read this and noticed you did not butcher the name "Titian" by calling it "tahitian".
    Rock on.

  3. Looking forward to this build!

Lots of cool history here already. I can't wait to see it come together!

  5. Pardon my curiosity @Cody Walls but what kind of drive train, suspension, etc… are you planning to utilize for this project? IMHO, use an Olds Rocket engine. Just sayin.

He is cloning a car, don’t you think he should use a Desoto Hemi like the original? If he changes a bunch of things it won’t be a clone...

  14. Why build a replica? The original is restoted and displayed in the Museum of American Speed. dsc04708-edit-2_orig.jpg

Because that's not the original. That's the Show Rod the original was turned into.

  16. I was replying to the post about the post right before mine refering to building a replica of the Monogram model not the original Cody is building.

Wasn’t it in a fire at one time and got burned up or something? I know it got pro streeted at one time.

And, I thought the "l'il Coffin" above got turned into the "Monkey Ward Delivery" before it burnt...or did it get burnt and the rebuild turned it into the Monkey car? (Never liked this version!).

@Cody Walls, I'll be watching...I like the Era you've chosen.

  22. Let’s see now, you’ll need a new frame, new motor, new transmission, new rear end, new brakes, steering, battery, Hilborn injected Hemi( why not right?) , tires, wheels, electrical ( lights that is) , upholstery , oh and a new paint job ( I’m thinking Winfield fade, but that’s just me)

I hope you'll build it true to the first version. Ignoring input from those who want their version built. That is one of my all-time favorites. I'll be following along. Good luck.

All the cool cars have DeSoto Hemi's, even if they're not clones... (Jeez, I gotta do something about the bolts for the generator mount...) 8E5D3484-ED3D-4296-A05E-CCF4CAEE6B00.jpeg

I'm gonna build a clone of Isky's roadster, but I'm gonna use a Nailhead not Maxi F heads on a flathead block, it's gonna be a '27 body, with a '32 grill shell instead of the Pontiac, and it'll have a Winfield style candy panel paint job. Other than that, just the same...;)

Not to hijack, but when I got this I was committed to fenderless. I have since found some rear fenders and man, full fendered and channeled would be cool!
