To get them perfect they all get a skim coat of filler and 90% of it ends of in the trash can , this is one stage some people don’t show . I’ll be back on the buick for this next year

I interviewed for a place a few years back who did restoration and custom work, including paint and body. The owner said “we don’t use any filler, period.” They had little to no sheetmetal equipment, no TIG welder in sight, and the shop was very poorly lit. Maybe he meant they just put on 20 coats of high build? I didn’t see any of their paint jobs outside but I can’t imagine they were anything close to show quality. I was glad to pass on that job.

  7. Correct me if I’m wrong @Cody Walls , but didn’t you have that car just about ready for paint not too long ago?

Just an update . Even though I can’t show photos of the latest progress on the car . I just wanted to let everyone know I’ve been thrashing on the EJob . I came out of paint retirement and Richard a Brandon Glymph have been helping me spray the Buick . It is painted an it looks like a sheet of glass . I should start final assembly next week . An I’m planning on debuting it at the grand National roadster show in February .

Great! If I understand things you can't show finished photos before the National Roadster Show, correct? Best of luck to you! Bob

She picked black . But I asked her who’s going to clean it . A the finger got pointed at me . So we spent a long time looking at colors an we came up with a house of kolor Gold we both liked .

It’s a 37 packard I’ve been working on for a customer I’ll do a build thread on it when I get some time . This past year I did put a 56 packard dual quad 374 ci v8 in it . That thing is a monster But also I update my instagram a lot more frequently because it’s easier. An I have photos on there if you want to see it sooner

Ever look at things and wonder how they got done? How big is the guy that did the prep work on that rear bumper?
