Are the GM advance design (47 to 54) pickup cabs the same size as the COE cabs? I know the doors at the fenders are different, but could I use the back of a pickup cab to graft on an extension to the back of the cab? I thought I'd read that they were the same but I can't seem to find it now.
As far as know, from the base of the windshield to back of the lower cab, advanced design 48-54 Chevy COE's and pickups are the same.
Yes, the basic cab is the same. Floor, firewall doors and seat suport are adjusted but every other part of the cab sheet metal can be swapped. Rob
802bbq, the one I remember was in a garage, but definitely Fords. I'm too lazy to look for it today. LOL
The 1938 Fords are mine. The COE cab is 7" wider than the conventional cab. But, that is the early Fords only. The '47-'53 Chevy COE cab are are same size as the conventional cab those years.
well dang. im not old enough to use the memory excuse. 65standard- is the hood in your avatar metal or paint?
