Hey guy this is kind of OT so bear with me.
I am using a 1981 chevy C20 as my donor frame.
I thought it was a dually truck originally so I thought it was great.
I found out that this was never a dually,so I thought I could swap a 14'' dually rear end,no problem.

Well while I was looking for rims and tires I found an offer on 4 16"dually wheels cheap,I was smart to test them before buying and I saw that they wont fit in the front.

I really dont want 19.5 wheels because they are too big too expensive and probably will be 10 bolt pattern.

I found some stock 16'' steelie wheels for 100 bucks.I could get some whitewalls and use that but I dont like the look of the 8 bolt pattern..
the questions are: Do they make 8 lug steelies moon cover or center cap???
And I really want duallies on my truck,What are my options here???

You may be able to put duals on your stock rear, (the wheel pattern should be the same) but they might stick out too far. Dually rears are usually narrower. Measure your rear, backing plate to backing plate and I will compare it to my dually rear.
Dually type wheels won't fit on the 3/4 ton front without changing the hubs tho...

you could change the a-arms etc to the 1 ton style and have 16 inch rims all the way around or. fyi- the 16 inch 3/4 ton rims have the nubs for center caps so beauty rings and caps are an option.

I have decided to use steel wheels all around.
I am sure the best option are 16" wheels.
Does anybody if older wheels fit the newer trucks???
Also is the rear end highway friendly???
I never did my research but its too late.

Hey, quick question about that '81 frame ... is that unit front steer or rear steer and is it a rack and pinion or a box?

  7. As far as I know all GM 8 bolts are the same pattern.
Best way to find out your ratio is to pull cover off and look at stamping on crown gear edge.
My Dana 60 has a little tag on one of the cover bolts,I got lucky,3:54
