Looks like good work, how many hours into it? Are you looking for people to work for you at that hourly rate, or is that what you paid to get it done?
the panel as you see to date has took 4.5 hrs. i am looking for people to work for me that have the capabilities of producing the above quality in this thread.compensation is between $25-35 per hour depending on the level of your skill. This is not an entry level position that requires training. You must be able to do shape work. There is a trial period. thanks
Is that panel tacked with mig then tig welded? How are you grinding the welds? Love looking at your work.
thanks toby, yes mig tacked then grind tacks with this; https://www.google.com/shopping/pro....5&ei=Ok8cVMK8McSMyAS_sILIBg&ved=0CKQBEKYrMAM you can find cheaper at your local welding supplies, just an example. tig weld 1-2" grind top off tig weld with above product, planish weld whilst still hot,so have to move fast. then repeat process, tig weld 1-2" etc
Personally at first glance I would not have built either panel the way the photos show. I'm sure there was a reason for why you chose to make a mid panel seam instead of a full one piece repair. If I were 30 again instead of nearly 70 I might have been your guy. The Wizzard
i was filling a panel to match the other side.No panel was 'built' as they were original panels already in existence just like K13 states. The seam is right on the cusp of the radius, the beginning of the strongest part of the panel to reduce any warpage. As you didn't read or understand the whole thread,i can't help thinking you wouldn't be my guy,but thank you either way.
and all 4 panels completed ready for pick up. need help, skilled metal workers,$25ph and upwards depending on skill level reply with resume to valerie@themetalsurgeon.com
Those flat radiused pieces look like COE panels that go under the door. The one with the missing portion you filled in is cut out because it originally went over the battery box, which was on the running board. Very nice work!
I'd think a guy is going to have to have some years of serious metal work behind him to match that on a daily basis.
