The wheels are harder than hens teeth to find. It took me 9 motnths of looking to find them. When I found them I bought them. Cost me around $2K for them but I thoughtI might never find another set so I grabbed them. I have 6 and am running 2 steel inner rear wheels so I can save 2 for spares incase something would happen to any. Alcoa has not made the weels since the early 80s. I do have 4 steel 22.5 wheels and am going throught western NY this weekend. I will PM you about them.

Here's a 1947 Ford COE shorty I found up in South Dakota last week while I'm back up here. It is a little rough but saveable and it has a pretty nice grill. It has the usual rust and the top is oil canned down. The drivers door looks pretty ugly on the bottom but the passenger side looks OK. I couldn't get inside of it because the door latches are stuck and I didn't want to break anything. I don't know if I can make the deal worthwhile until I know what I'd have to pay for it because I'd have to cut some trees down to get it out and then haul it quite a few miles out of the boonies.

There's several flatheads laying around but they are all bad from what I was told. I found out about this about three years ago and I finally made the connection to get out to look at it with the 82 year old owner. There's several Model A's and other old junkers there but it will tough to get them out this year because winter is coming.

    Here's the nicest Model A.

Great photos, Thanks for sharing. doesn't look to bad in the pics but sure looks like everything is sinking! Guess that's what happens after a few decades of sitting?
My Grandpa had a yard in Custer SD (where I grew up) well never really grew up but..... that was a fun place to play as a kid, we only got into trouble a couple times :) he didn't have anything quite that old there, I remember once though a guy came through from California I think and bought 3 or 4 of the really old ones he had way out in the back. Don't remember what they were though, I was about 6 or 7.

When I was about 5 yrs old or so I noticed that all of Grandpas cars had the keys in them so I spent a few hours pulling all the keys out I could find to give him... I just wanted to help.... :D

And to keep this somewhat on topic a sweet GMC for sale locally here.

Don't think I have seen this one on here. It started out as a 42 chevy COE. V12 GMC twin 6 engine is cool.

Yeah, the engine is cool, but the rest looks like....um.....a real waste of a COE. Just my 2 cents

Thanks for the heads up ! I was lucky enough to get one from Koos. Who would have ever thought I'd have a shroud on my truck from the Neitherlands ? Thanks again, and good luck with your COE.

Here is a shot of Big Bertha towing the trailer that brought her home. Looks small now that BB is all together. Also met "cjcat56" along the way and was able to help him out with 4 of the wheels he needed for his56 C600 COE. The HAMB at work!

Great day when we can use these trucks for what we built them for.

I've had it about a year and a half and all I know is it came from Connecticut. There were a few companies that did aftermarket extended cabs at the time but I couldn't tell you which one did this truck. I have some researching to do when I get around to it :D

Were there Chevy COEs equipped with dual rear axles from the plant?
