That was a 1948 Diamond T Model SCH Truck Sleeper. It didn't say wether or not if it was a fire truck in its past life. I thought it was cool until I seen HOTFRB's utility crucab Mack. Thats Flippen Cool,,,,

Be nice to see some Hambers pick one or two of these up and get some more build threds going.
I gess its not a good idea to promote auctions but,,, Its Something like Vander"Boink" or "Doink" Auctions on proxi. To far away for me.
Hear's some other COE's on that auction in STockton, KS.

It would be good if some of those COE's in that auction were bodies only. That way a guy could get more than one on a trailer. Due to that it's to far for me also

Here is my 1948 Diamond T 509sc. A friend of mine lost interest in it so he gave it to me for free ! It still runs ! I'm thinking of moving the rear end forward about 2 feet and make a bed for it.

Here's a picture of a 40 ford cabover my friend Mark has that he restored and made his own bed with fiberglass rear fenders.

The Diamond T and the Mack have to many similarities to be just a coincidence. Is the Diamond T a Crew Cab as well ? Does it have three doors like the Mack I showed ? I also note the Diamond T has the same access panel as the Mack behind the drivers door. Also interesting to see both vehicles have Guide headlights with the indicator / park light on top.

Thanks for the heads up on the auction, I think I'll go. The last thing I need is more projects but how do you pass up an auction like that only 200 miles away?

I have some pictures from the auction I went to today. That had to be one of the largest Diamond T collections around. Considering how nice a day it was and how many people were there, the prices were reasonable. The Dodge Airflow went for $30,000.00 but it's pretty rare. All the COE's are below and there are a couple of non-COE's I found interesting. I don't want to see any grown men cry so you may want to turn off your monitor and walk away. I bought the Ford. Enjoy!

Airplane Guy, hope you're not done. How much did the other Diamond T's bring? Thanks for letting us know the prices. If it hadn't been so far or if I had a bigger trailer I'd have come to that sale.

I have the prices for all the trucks but you've seen all my pictures. I'll see if I can put something together tomorrow, it's been a long day.

got to get a mould made of my GMC passenger side before its too cool to work with the itchy***** anymore this yr. Got a few grills fabbed and the upper steps. Still got to get step rubber molds done too.

These are amazingly like giant VW beetle fenders, I think ill run the later style 600 cannonball style headlights that just mount to the front of the fenders and save a little more weight whereever I can trim.

Whats funny is more than once an Austrailian have paid LOTS of money to have my _inferior_ stuff imported for their projects.
Here is a removable hardtop for a 67-8 camaro or firebird convertible I designed.
If any of you are ever in Phillip, Look up Max Mules-He used to (or still does) own the shell station there. He was tickled to death with that piece.

I have so many projects going that I cannot limit myself too "all steel" that would never take care of buisness, there probably wont be any 39 GMC COE fenders stamped in china for us-- but all the crazy***** coming out of there it wouldn't supprise me that much. Whats sad is its being done on our old 35,000 and 40,000 ton Toledo presses from the 40's .

I am scheming to come out with some metal parts though!

Anyway this is the way it is---- GMC Trucks is 100 Yrs old this yr and im going to get the engine installed and fired up at least. I do a news letter for aquantiances "Vintage GMC Madness".
Many of the HA M B rs wont approve of the engine im using but --they aren't covering my drivetrain/fuel costs either.

Im sticking a 3.0 Mercedes turbodiesel in it with a euro truck 4 speed, and just scored a late 30's watson /spicer auxillary tranz so I can hit overdrive on long straightaways. The 5 cyl merc has around the same hp as a 4bt****mins but wont rattle your teeth out. there are ways to get 20 more hp for no cost -monkying around with the IP, above that its head porting or real expensive ip mods. they also weigh the same as the 270 GMC but the torque is not comparable so im saving weight whenever possible.
