I used the stock Hydro-boost system from the 1 ton chassis my truck is mounted on. Takes up less space than a brake booster and works great.

1952 Autocar. I would love to have it but there is lots of cars I would love to have. I really like the way the driver enters the cab. Maybe one of you can buy it and take me for a ride?

  8. '39-'40 GMC, It was/is a diesel, you can tell because the hood has hinges on top and opens up.
Gasoline ones, the hood/nose was bolted on.

A Commer. A popular truck in its day in Australia. You have to like the plates on it now.

What do you plan on doing to the hood on your truck? I put mine back on all in one piece. This summer I changed engines and had to get to the radiator. I had the hood off about ten times and what a pain in the*****. About two weeks ago I took it off and drilled out all the spot welds making it a two piece unit. I am going to bend some tubing and weld it to the flanges to stiffen it up. I was worried about it loosing shape when I separated the halves but it is ok. I am using the bolts to hold it like original. I thought about some type of hinge and latch but the way the trim pieces are on it I think there would be a clearance problem. Just a FYI for ya. Keep up the good work.

Hey<SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_8345629", true); </SCRIPT> Bfreehill....your truck is turning out GREAT!!! Keep 'em coming!!

btw.....if anyone is interested, I finally put an album together that show the progression of my Hot-Rod Peterbilt project.
(I DID have a build thread started, but the mods killed it!!) :(

If everything keeps up the way it's been going, it autta be on the road this spring!!!

i have to dis-agree with Flowmeister, I have never encountered a flip open nose 1506 gmc earlier than 45--and 48 was the last official production yr, But is a dealer still had one sitting-it was just****led as a 49, and most from 46 up were diesel semi tractors.

I bought this 56 Ford COE today. Super solid truck, all the body parts are with it. I look forward to working on it. I am looking for a chasis to put it on. I haven't decided wether to make a hauler or pickup out of it. I'm thinking 1 ton duelley chasis with a****mins diesel. I will post more photos and we progress....

Is that truck in your Avatar yours and for sale? I thought I seen it on craigslist recently.
