Hey, this question is for any of ya'll that are familiar with the '39-'41 Ford COE trucks, re: the headlight stands that have the small turn signal or running light in the stand.

Are these stands distinctly Right and Left, or can they be swapped from one side to the other? Looking at photos, it is hard to tell if they mount pretty much straight ahead, or does the fender surface that they mount on sort of turn in towards the grille on either side?

I'm wondering if they might be suitable to replace the stands on something like a '34 Ford Sedan. The car in question is missing the original headlight stands.

    Thanks, *****6

I couldn't cut mine up for that either... also LOL on LS7 NUT ;)

That is so tempting, I'm only 7 hours or so north of the Montana Border... I've been showing it to my friends hoping they want it and I can live vicariously through them!

I have not noted any difference

Stands are same right to left. The 39 big truck without the parking light is the same shape. It offers a smoother look to the front end of the COE.

I don't think I would use COE stands on a 34 sedan. The 34 needs a more refined headlight and a shorter stand. The angle at the bottom of the stand would move the headlights too far forward on the 34 too.

O.K., I bought a pair of those stands years ago at swap meet, but didn't know what they were at the time ( Hey, these look cool... ). They're in a box, somewhere.

I do have some '34 commercial headlights which are larger than the p***enger '34's, but I just like the way they look on a sedan. I could just find some of the stock '34 stands for those.

Thanks for the input. And now, back to the big trucks!

I'm going to be out there again this summer sometime. If he's in town this year I can find out if he'll sell it or not and what he'd want for it.

"Big Bertha" is looking good! Pretty similar to my -50 with that long frame. What are your plans?

Hey Koos. Congrats on the sale of your truck. We all get to that point where it is time to move on, and we ( I) don't have enough space to keep them all. Hope all is well.

my guess is that the roof's been chopped. (a mild one)

it makes the doors look longer.

I sent an email to Bill asking the same question.
I think it has had both a small chop , but the doors just seem a bit longer too!
