Reigis, not exactly a stellar start on the HAMB in your first post. No introduction and promoting an Ebay listing is a big FAIL!

Just repeating what the seller/listing claimed

  4. From the research I have done, I would say that is a 39-40 GMC
that is a diesel, gas models had the one piece nose like mine.
Diesels used the clam shell hood

  5. That Rusty looking 38 Ford COE Cab is actually the very first Ford COE brought into Australia it is Model 81W #1
Aussie COE's had there model and body numbers stamped into the firewall
The restorer that has this one also has another 2 early Ford COE's, he would have had mine if he looked into the backyard of where I got mine from, his los my gain.

Flowmeister, guess we'll have to agree, to disagree on this one. I had a piece of literature introducing the alligator hood in 1946, on Heavy Duty GMC COE's.

It's way to chevy for me but I think it is a fair price. Most People don't have any appreciation for the time and money involved in such a project. There is also a lot of people that think they are still in the 70's when it comes to cost.

Very nice truck. They say the devil is in the details and I noticed a lot of details you have done on yours that make it a standout.

Did you try listing it on eBay?

Can anyone connect me up with the owner of this COE? He is in the Kansas City area. I would like to ask him how he mounted his boxes...Thanks

Make L shaped brackets and either weld or bolt to the frame. Material used would depend on how much weight you wanted to support
