  1. Heres something also in the eastern Wa area. Don't see many Mack COEs. You can find it on CL.

Seems a bit pricy but it looks solid and pretty much all there.

That Mercury COE sleeper cab is so "Rare", it'd be a shame not to restore that back original as a road tractor.

Mercury didnt make a COE until 1951. (This from good authority from my friends that eat sleep and breath ford and mercury over on FTE) :) Someone has probably heavily customized that truck even after the coachbuilder had it. Notice the daytons on front and probably original axle on rear? Still a cool truck though.

  7. I wouldn't worry about the chassis too much! If you look at the link willysbill put up, it looks like a lot of work has been done to the cab since that picture was taken. Makes the $3500 look like a decent price.

The owner of the COE from Spokane is Pat Shea, a friend of mine, and it is a project truck still. The one with the work done is actually being constructed as kind of a clone of the one you see. That truck was a delivery tractor for Comet Trailers back in the 40's here in Spokane, and has been sitting around in various hands for years. The company that did that COE and its modifications was Washington Auto Carriage, and still exists here doing lots of truck builds for commercial uses. Lots of interesting history for this COE.

Is that really a display...or do you live in the mountains, way off the beaten path?

Gee, I'm surprised they allowed it on the timber??
Previous years there has been problems with heavy vehicles.

Looks like I didn't miss anything anyway ;) (nice rig, but seen it before!)

That was what I said but sounds like after the issue with the fork lift going through the floor a few years back they have reinforced that section of floor.
The Museum next door use the underground storage area of the Exhibition building. The fork lift accident happened about four or five years ago about two weeks before the Hot Rod show and that is why my truck never got a look in as the floor had a weight limitation in place by the National Trust due to the heritage of the building.

    You missed a great show.

A trip to the show has always been a tax deduction trip for me.

Spotted in the parking lot at GNRS yesterday. The for sale sign had a phone number, no price and no info. Looks like a pretty nice restoration. If anyone is interested PM me and I'll give you the phone number.

  28. The box on it looks like it might have been made from an old semi trailer. I love those old round nose trailers with the decorative metal work on the front.
