    hey Guys,
curious what the typical wheel base is of your COE car haulers?
looking at 2 chevy 1 ton frames, one is 131"? and the other around 155" I think.
not planning on moving big cars, mostly around 15' or so.
    any suggestions?

    thanks

Can someone PLEASE build this thing? It's sitting in Pete Chapouris' office. I was hoping some guy there might see it, and want it built. It was real easy in plastic. Lift up the cab, and move it real far forward. Blend the bottom 2/3rds, and the top 2/3rds of a Deuce grille, and fill in the space.
Now the LSR is another story...

We picked this up last weekend. I have to ask what are you guys using to extend the cabs and make a four door like the one above?

Most people just use another cab, usually from a non COE to extend it, then for the doors most people use just the backs of 4 doors to make the two squared off ones.

I just purchased '41 Chevy COE
    Front.jpg

I'll use this '96 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke to mate the Chevy to.

This is my first COE build, so I'll probably have lots of questions. If anyone has any tips & tricks, I'm open to all ideas and suggestions. This is a fantastic forum.

I just sold the last four '47-'53 Chevy COE hoods I had left, to a local restorer. Let me know if you'd like his number.

Wish I had a closer photo, this taken was at a mini-show our club had in September. In the background is "Johnny Dodge's" rig, hauling his kick-ass Dodge (of course) truck. Both the hauler and rod have 440s, and the hauler was built on a motorhome chassis. Johnny did all the work himself, and actually built the rigs in Washington state, so some of you in that neck of the woods have probably seen these in person. He retired and moved back home to Minnesota last year.

Yep I got the COE bug a while back when my then 14 year old son said "Dad we got to have one" and dang after 2 years of sparks and knuckle busting here it is almost done. It's got a blown 468 BBC on the stock but modified frame with an NV-4500 5 speed going to a Ford Dually 4:10 rear. Adding the dove tail and belly boxes this fall and hitting the junk meets in the Spring. The local legend Ken Smith did the door art and I did all the rest.

Yeah, it can't haul much besides**** now. :D

Not HAMB friendly at all, but when you walk up to it you can't help but say "Damn, that's nice!" It IS homebuilt. That said, I admire the work that went into it but that doesn't mean I want it in my garage either. :)

Here are some photo's of a 54 Ford COE I purchased this summer in Lincoln Nebraska. I found the truck here on the HAMB. Body is in great shape, I'm looking for a chasis to put it on. I would like to find a 3/4 or 1Ton Dodge with a 6 cylinder****mins Diesel...
