Being a Chevrolet COE, that Chevy All Star Show Truck would have had an accessory air-pack, air over hydraulic setup on it. Full air brakes weren't available from the Factory on Chevrolet trucks until 1956.

I think COE's are awesome and I have been trying to find a 51-52 Ford on the east coast for a long time but have not had any luck. However I did find a 52 F-8 Big Job..Very close to me.....It Used to be an old fire truck but was turned into a manure spreader.

It has been sitting for a while but it is all there....5 star cab...which is a bonus. It has the OHV Lincoln motor in it....you know the deal...it was running when we parked it right there....

Old timer want $2000.00 for it...All I want is the sheet metal and the engine...I could prolly get most of the money back after I scrap the frame and the spreader ( i have no idea how much it weighs but I am sure it is heavy as hell)

Any body ever put an F-8 on a late model chassis? Sound like a fair price?
Check out the pictures...Let me know what you think.

The only issue is frame width, measure the frame at the front and rear of the cab and then start measuring your newer frames, on the smaller trucks I noticed that the 73-86 Chev truck chassis fits like a glove on GM, Ford and Dodge applications. I've done a few chassis swaps onto that style of frame and had no issues. Another issue you might find the front wheel wells are way to big unless you use a large wheel and tire combo like a 19.5 (this truck currently has 20 inch)

The spreader on that truck is used for chemical fertilizer........that stuff eats metal fast. You can see rust bleeding out of every body seam.....I would look it over very carefully.
Also the fenders are much wider than the smaller trucks. It does have some good parts on it though....

Thanks for the info...Do you think the F8 is wider than a COE? If so how much wider?

F-8 and COE look about the same width to me. Definitely wider than the F1-6. Here is a pic of my COE cab setting on an '89 chevy chassis.....note how far in the fenders the wheels are.

Back in about 2005, I missed getting this truck by maybe an hour. It sold to a dealer for a scary low price of $4500, and then got resold to someone else in a few weeks. The builder was an older fellow in the Boise, Idaho, area, and was quite proud of his handiwork. It had a 460 & C6 in it, and could have been driven anywhere. Very nice truck .... and something I am wondering if is still around anywhere?? Sure would be interested in finding the truck again.

Thanks in advance for any clues.

That looks perfect....please don't paint it!!! Is that a stock frame or has it been lowered some? I think you are right about the width...Can you measure the front end for me...I am curious to know if it is the same as the F8. Thanks and good luck with your coe! What engine combo you going to use?

No I am not going to paint it........currently making an extended cab. I have a build thread on the COE social group.

I measured the front fenders......82" wide at the center of the wheel opening. Hope that helps.

Wow, I wonder why they would just park it to rot like that? It looks pretty decent.

I hope you burn that bra though, I will never understand why people put those on nice vehicles...
