I think it's a construct. The split window cab does not match with the later styling of the other front end body parts. It's like 1949 meets 1958 as well as crossing other boundries.

I take it back, I saw this on another website that says it's a 1950 GMC 650 semi tractor. Aparrently they used the same basic grille design up into 1957 with a few minor modifications

With those front hubs and rough tires it looks like a NAPCO 4wd conversion.

that nose was only on the 55-59 versions, the 54 and older was different with the same cab.

I have wanted one of those noses to hang on my living room wall forever!

That's actually a GMC "Fat Cab" 860 series. The 860's were produced from 1955-'59, & were the only GMC truck series that utilized the late front end, with the early cab. All the other 700, 800, & 900 series GMC "Fat Cab" trucks used the older front end. The GMC "Cannonballs" were the '50-'59 "Fat Cab" COE's.

Was the body a Pierce? If so they are still around and supposedly keep extensive records on all their builds, including chassis info.

    GM should have built that!

They also should have made this one production because it would have sold!

going to go try toget it tommorrow and look at a couple other firetrucks that area firemen know about

will post photo next weekend as am on vacation ,you know the kind where you go ,so when the kids are busy each day you get out your list of cars and trucks and get out of their hair.

If it"s this company, you should be able to get engine, trans, axle ratios, weight limits, or anything else pertaining to the chassis. May even have some spare parts.

Could someone that owns a 1938 to 1947 Ford COE measure the width of the inside of the cab between the doors for me? I found a nice pair of seats I'd like use in my 1940 COE if they'll fit once I get it moved down here to Arizona.

I have an extra chassis that is a good one for a COE for sale that's located in South Dakota.
Its a 1974 Chevrolet C-3500 Crew Cab Dually with the big Dana 70 HD rear end for just $500.
