    It's tempting, only about 60 miles from my place. But I really need to finish a few projects before I buy another one.

  15. I went back by to try & get some additional pics of the White I posted back a buncha pages but the folks that live there were home so I chickened out... don't want to

    A ) look like a creeper & get shot
    B ) tip my hand that I'm interested in it until I might have some backup loot to make an actual offer should they want tome Samolians for it.

    I hope to make a couple more p***es this week.

    For now, I'm dealing with the headaches of 2 insurance claims for damages & lost property; had my truck broken into yesterday evening when the wife & I took the kids fishing on Lady Bird / Town Lake (Red Bud Isle). Small consolation, they both caught their 1st ever fish; more for her (7 y.o.), larger for him (5 y.o.)...

    <sigh>

    So here is the history of the truck. Custom made by GMC coach division for the public library of DC as a mobile library to take books to inner city kids. The owner also has the original trailer built by gmc. This is a 1 of 1 in existance from GMC. The owner also has all the do***entation from GMC about this truck and the original ***le from GMC to DC library. the truck was sectioned in the middle and the sectioned part is a wooden frame at the roof and floor covered in sheet metal. The door and side panel are stamped steel. Eventhough this is a rare truck built by GMC, I am not going to buy it. I just don't have the room for the truck and 40' trailer. Just thought I would p*** along the info on it.

    Started on the truck September 2011 and was on the road at a functional level 2 days before Memorial Day Weekend. Right now I am finishing up door panels, center console and bed. Would not suggest such a short time frame to anyone.......:)

  18. buggy, that's too bad, but I understand the room to keep it issue.
    I hope someone from here gets it and we all get to watch the build thread.

    Buggy, that 40 foot trailer sure would make a nice period correct RV.. we know you have the skills.. haha... I think we all understand the space issues, with wanting more projects, let alone one on this sort of scale.

    I live in a neighborhood on a giant 1/3 acre lot. Space becomes an issue some times. I can't even build a 1 stall work garage....as you can see from my build pictures I have a low ceiling problem in the garage I do have.

    Nice proportions on the cab. One of the best I have seen . Guessing that someone did the body mods a while ago? Nice start. Good luck with the build.
