Has anyone made a COE into an extended cab? Have been looking for photos or videos of the process they used. Any help?
Several have been done, not reeally any different than the extended cab pickup conversions. General process is an extra cab (can be pickup), and two sets of door tops, meaning four doors worth. Use the door tops to make the side window openings; or some have used the back window, but again you need two. Since most COE cabs are the same as pickup on the back, you can use the pickup rear section and partial roof, so only one seam required on top. The side filler pieces you fabricate, can use the extra doors so it has the right profile. It is a lot of work and if you try to get by without adding windows it will not look right. Just think of the car top chops with filled rear quarter window areas. They do not look as good as the ones with windows. If you just want a few inches cab length, you might just stretch the doors and not make it a full extended cab style. My 49 Ford COE has good room inside as orig built, and I have 4 inch chop on the top. What is your COE year and make?
