Angling a coil over reduces the effective rate of the spring. You will have to increase the size of spring the more you angle the shock. If you are moving it in slightly for clearance, say 1" or 2", you should be fine. If you are wanting to mount the top by the tire and the bottom by the center section, then you will have problems. Then the spring base is too narrow, and you will have body roll problems. For best performance they should be mounted straight up and down, but that isn't always possible. Angled in at the top is the next best. As far as looks, I don't think that angling them in at the bottom, will look very good at all.
