Hot Rods coil -over shock buying ??

    i need a set of coil -over shocks ! need some advice on what to buy ! ive got a choice of "aldens" or Qa-1s shocks ,im wanting the double adjustable ones .last set i bought was konis ,they was ok ! anybody have any ideas on what to pick ? they are going on a gasser car thanks

    You need to know ride height as well as compressed and extended lengths. At ride height shock needs to be 1/3 down stroke as a rule of thumb. Others more knowledgeable than me will no doubt seek further information from you on the car, weight, set up etc etc.

    I've never purchased any however plenty of people I know have purchased Aldans and later a few of them required the seals to be replaced. Not saying they are an inferior product however I've purchased other suspension components from both QA1 and RideTech and found the products to be good quality. QA1 and Aldan, as you note, both offer dual settings for compression and rebound. I didn't see any dual settings for RideTech coil overs, only singles (HQ - Rebound) however dual settings are available, at substantial additional cost, in the TQ series. The service and technical help in the above has always been good.
