I have a 64 Belair that is 99% stock. I just replaced all the coil springs and shocks with stock replacement parts. I expected the rear of the car to go up a bit, but it didn't (the front sure did). I don't want to run air-shocks, they just don't seem to be the right solution IMHO. I'm wondering if anyone could stear me in the right direction regarding coil spring spacers. I would like at least 1" maybe even 2" of lift. Hopefully one of you guys/gals could say "don't buy these ****x, they ****" or "I had good luck with p/n ****x". I just don't like the way the cars "sits", and as the springs "settle" it's only gonna get worse. Thanks in advance!
I have used the old style twist in with very good luck....cheap, and yes they do hold up fine... Also ... Really nice lookin' Chevy, but I am with squirrel, looks real fine as it is to me too... Cheers......
I thought about getting wagon springs, but didn't. It's wierd, in the picture I posted it looks OK. Other times, taildragger. I'm so confused..............
Looks perfectly 'normal' to me. I wouldn't change a thing, unless it was to lower it a bit..............
I had springs made to factory specs here in Dayton for my 66 Impala and it rode high in the front. It settled a little after about 3-400 miles then that was it. I wound up taking 1/2 a coil out of the front to get it to set right. I just didn't want to run air shocks either. Now I'm in the same boat needing new shocks and considering air shocks this time, but that would just be a temporary fix till I redo my whole rear spring set up. I agree with everybody the car looks fine but I can see its a touch low in the back and thats exagerated by the shape of the rear wheel well opening.\
I got new springs for the front of my 65 Biscayne. After the install, it looked like a g***er. I got use to it and kind of liked it, but after a year, the fronts settled.
