coilovers?

i saw a truck with a suicide style front suspension with coilovers instead of a monoleaf... are there drawbacks to this? pros/cons?

 

yeah, they look about as cool as an overweight middle aged man in tight short-shorts wearing a "salmon" colored polo shirt...

Only that it's not quite traditional, but it should have a better ride with the right springs. Coilovers do not have friction that exists in leaf springs. Also, you must run some sort of panhard bar with coilovers to locate the axle.
