Coker Bias Firestones vs. Coker Radials... has anyone done a back to back comparison?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by SamIyam, Mar 18, 2013.

  1. The drum I bought through All Ford parts in Campbell, CA was perfect.

I had bought two from Sacramento Viontage Ford... same Made in the USA drums and they were good too.

But they are both out of stock on them now...

I bought the mt car products ones. They get rid of this by fully machining the drum.

We talked about Kokers a couple of weeks ago. I had Kokers on my '46 and noticed that the outer and inner edges of the tires was dangerously thin, this looked like a very under inflated symptom. I keep my tires at the Koker recommended 35psi. When I showed pictures of my tires to the Koker people at Hershey they told me "our tires are for show cars, not drivers". Several other guys were told the same thing. It looks like the Kokers I have on the car now will need to be replaced soon, so I am going with Diamondbacks from now on.

Can't believe that--the tires are DOT rated

I'd imagine that is a way of legally covering their ****s as they sell tires based on what would be considered outdated technology. In court someone may be able to make an argument against the company if they claimed that their 1950 style bias plies were every bit as safe as a modern radial.
