Coker/Firestone slicks???

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Jalopy Kid, Jan 31, 2008.

  1. I'm thinking of picking up a set of the Coker Firestone whitewall slicks for my dragster but i'm not sure if it will p*** tech with them or what their speed rating is. It's not a stupid fast dragster, high 9's at 135mph. I looked into the Hurst slicks and they told me their only rated for 120mph and not for racing applications.
Anybody have any info on the firestones?
Or if anyone else makes a nostalgic slick?
    Thanks

Most of the nostalgia racing tires are just for looks and as you have already seen, don't meet current racing specs for safety. 135 MPH is too fast for me to take a chance, at that speed your safety is more important than looks....
