The cab and doors have rust and will need patch panels. It is a bare cab no gauges, garnish molds ,no nothing!Doors are also bare...Story on how I came about it is I was just talking to a mate how I was looking for a truck project. He tells me that he has a cab with doors and a frame next thing you know it's mine . Did not even know he had it so you never know what happens when you talk with mates .... Rod.

  3. Good start on a project, that cab looks pretty solid. You'll have to track down or trade off your frame, the '40-41's were still buggy spring. The 42-47 cab floor is different too under the seat to make room for the different gas tank.

You might want to do a little more research before you buy any more parts. The car fenders will not fit the pickup correctly. The car hood will not fit the cowl as well. The frame you have looks like it may be from a 1 ton truck. Your cab is a 42 to 46 cab but will fit a 35 to 40 car frame.

This is a car frame that will also fit the 40/41 pickups. Check out my build thread of my 40 pickup. It has lots of photos. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=527407

    Nice...parts.
I have a pair of inside door handles for a 48-52 ford f1,I suppose I could donate them for your cause.(if they fit your doors that is)
shipping them to Aus. is going to be a first tho.

I am thinkin 5inches used my jo blocks been a while took the pieces from the front post and used them in the top.Hardest part was the doors and the fact that over the years some one used the top as ladder racks and the top back of the cab was beat all to hell

Who supplies patch panels and how did they fit?...thanx Rod.

  26. Howells sheet metal, Northern classic trucks and a few others. All state side of course. Most of the patches fit very well....but if you start buying patches, stick with one company. The stuff from Northern classics was the best out of the supplyers i went with for my '45 ford cab. The floor pans from norther classics and howells are not made off the same tooling, so there was quite a bit of fit difference between the two, showed me wht I shouldn't cut corners to save a couple bucks.
