Hi guys - As stated in my other thread I am using an Isuzu NPR ch***is, the track width on the front wheels on my isuzu npr is approximately 75" (+/- 1" depending on how you consider tire buldge). Since at the moment I don't have a cab and would consider most any year Ford, Chevy, GMC or Dodge, I am trying to figure out what cab would work best. I thought it might be helpful for anybody starting a project to know the track widths that best fit any given year, make and model of COE From my other post it appears a 75" NPR track width nicely fits the 1947 Ford COE that Lauren Wibbelman built (see Wolfcreek-Steve's post from my other ). If you think it would help others starting a project, would everyone mind posting a photo of the their truck, stating year, make and model and then posting the front track width (outside of left front tire to outside of right front tire)?
The Dodge dually axle under the front of my Autocar is 79.5 to the outside of tires. In my case the exact width isn't that important, because I'll be using something other than stock for front fenders. See avitar.
I don't see any stamp or sticker on the Isuzu indicating gvwr. Need to investigate on the old inter web.
Don't know what year this is for, but 15,000 should be a safe bet. Isuzu N-Series Diesel Truck Specifications Isuzu Model NPR NPR-HD - At a Glance GVWR/GCWR (NPR) 13,000/19,000 lbs. FWIW, track width on mine is about 74"........'51 Ford cab on an '89 Chevy R3500 ch***is. I have about 4" of extra space between tire and fender lip on each side, so a bit wider track would work with these cabs(48-52).
Track width= 80" on a 2003 Ford E-350 ch***is. !956 Ford C600 cabover. I am sure the track width will be wider when I install the 285/70R/19.5" tires and rims. Regards, Mark.
Thanks Badmoonreizen, does the 80” track width look good, or need the additional width from the wider tires to site right within the fenders? A little difficult to tell from the photo you attached. Perhaps you could also post a side shot?
Bantam: I need the wider and taller tires (35.5") to fill the wheel well . This picture shows the original ch***is tires.
