I don't want to admit it, but I have a ton of $ invested in rebuilding the collection of Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars that I had when I was small. Of course, I justify it by including my 6 year old in the deal... r
I've got a bunch of diecast drag racing stuff, Muscle Machines when they first came out, and Ed Roth stuff. I'm trying not to collect it anymore and collect art now. Most of it is automotive related...perhaps I will post it one day.
My hot rod collection isn't anything special just basic hot wheels, muscle machines....but my newest additions are these voodoo skulls from jamaica i know there not hot rod but i think there pretty badass
60's Style, thats a nice collection! I collect old hot rod toys like yours, mostly from the 50's and 60's. Here's some of my hot rod room thats built into my garage.
Neat stuff guys. I go a little further back. Cast iron fron the 1920's and 1930's. If anyone has any busted, rusted, decent, good, or mint condition iron I'd be interested. JH
A few from my collection:first one was made in Italy right after WWII;has a clockspring motor,forward and reverse,and steers.Body is chrome-plated and interior is velour.Second is a Marx Jalopy(large size)that I had as a kid.Third is a Tootsietoy mail truck from the 30's that my uncle played with as a kid.Fourth is an Eldon Milk Truck kit I built many years ago(note traditional dust).
60's Style...nice collection! I have all 9 of those little "Tiny Tonka" hotrods. They're getting really hard to find these days. Not many people seem to know anythign about them. I also have a small collection of 1:18 & 1:24 diecast, plus a few hundred Hot Wheels.
i've gotta be pushin about two THOUSAND Hot Wheels, some Johnny Lightnings, a couple Matchbox and a growing collection of Muscle Machines in both sizes. my entire office is literaly stacked with em. along with some repops of some old model kits (Roth stuff mostly) and an original TV Tommy Ivo 4 engine dragster model. i keep buyin em and have no place to put em so they are stacked all over this room, most still in the bags from the store, a couple milk crates full and several boxes in the closet FULL of them. threee of the four walls are covered in Hot WHeels from mid way up all the way to the ceiling. i have a sickness ... my name is Mike and i'm a caraholic. big or small, i love em all.

I'm embarassed at how unprepared I am for this thread. My collection is mostly open-wheeled race cars, record cars and hot rods, ranging from '20s cast iron and tin toys to contemporary diecast. Working on Hot Wheels for the last four years probably increased my collection by hundreds of cars. BUT -- I don't have more than a tiny fraction of it displayed. I'd love to show it off, but I can't!
Anyone have an early 1950's toy roadster with clear four cylinder engine and moving pistons? Someone bought me one of these when I was very young, and my Mother blames it for my going bad... I found a new one recently, and then found another car, a jalopy racer, by the same company with 8 moving pistons!! That one would have sent me around the bend when I was four! The roadster has a sort of 27 T looking body and a grill that seems to be Dusenberg J series inspired. Wish I could post pictures.
Bruce, You're probably talking about NOSCO toy cars, mostly bright red, blue and yellow, w/ clear engine blocks and rubber tires. I have several of those. I know what ya mean, '50; most of my stuff is in boxes right now, but I'll pull alot of it out for a club meeting in a couple of weeks. Mostly '50's tin and plastic hot rods, a lot of friction motors, moving pistons, and a bunch of inline engine rods. Never too old for toys.******6
