  1. Those guys give used car salesmen their name. Rather shady they are.

I know someone that had a bad experience with them once. They drove all the way from another state with a trailer to buy a certain car that they had been shown pics of via email. When they finally got there the car they tried to sell them was not the one in the pics but rather another car that looked like it had, at one time, a car on top of it and it was very rusty. Needless to say they were pissed and went home empty handed and short all that gas money and time to get there. [IMG] [IMG]

I'm sure they buy that stuff off of farmer's fields, old garages, etc. for pennies on the dollar R-

How right you are! I bet 90% of their stuff came from out of state.

About 3 years ago my wife and I stopped by a place up north called Rocky Mountain Classics to look at a 53 Chevy. They are/were somehow affiliated with Classical Gas.

Anywho, while we were there, this old guy pulls up in a dually pickup towing a 5th wheel with 3 field-fresh cars on it that he had just picked up from Nebraska and Kansas.

He said they usually clean them out, pressure wash them, get the tires to hold air, and put them on one of their lots.

I used to sell them cars and parts when I lived out there. I used to get cars real cheap and you could always count on them buying them and mark them up 100% didn't matter to me, I got what I wanted out of them. Ask them to let into the big building east of the lot, they had a couple old Willys gassers in it. Big buck though

Maybe high priced, but you can't give it away for nothing. I would hate to pay his print advertising bill. I see near full page ads for this place everywhere. Regardless of what you think of prices, or biz practices, it IS an interesting place to visit. See some rare and odd vehicles. Last time he was working on a '34 5 window. A 4 cyl supposedly from Argentina. It was right hand drive. Out front at Eaton, a Canadian Meteor, with a grill like the Larry Earnst Chevy.

The trip to Eaton is worth it just to go around the corner to the local liquor store. That's right. EATON LIQUOR! I bought a shirt. Says "Eaton Liquor, satisfies the parts other stores can't." Every HAMBer needs one.

While you are in the area, go west of Greeley on the 4 lane, about 10 miles on the north side. Lot's of old stuff in there. My favorite, an Aussie '55 Ford Ute, clear on the west side of the yard. $3,000 might buy it.

You talking about Martin's Junk yard 54? I'm headed there today to lok at a 50 ford he's had around a while. Last time I was in he only wanted a grand, I like them much better than classical gas.

Don't know if it's Martin's or what. I think it has changed hands a few times. They used to have a Lookout tower in the south east corner of the yard so you could look over the whole place. Hope you find what you're looking for.

What's all that white shit? I don't miss it, I do miss taking a Sunday drive to see what new on the lot.

Hey Tom do you ever see Marc? I can never get a hold of him. I heard he hung up his tool and is driving truck now.
