Hello all, It is with a very heavy heart that I relay this message, but long time Colorado kustomizer Charlie Mawhinney passed away yesterday. He was a fellow Metalflake Misfit from day one, and he taught me alot about kustoms. Charlie and his wife Opal had moved to Kansas a few years ago, but anybody around these parts that was into kustoms knew Charlie. He was a fun guy to hang around with, and he always had some funny stories to pass along. He was an awesome shade tree mechanic, but his real talent was with masking tape. He studied Larry Watson, and Charlie loved to lay one out like 'ol Larry. Car shows, cruise nights and kustom road trips just won't be the same without him. They must've needed someone to do some layouts on the other side, 'cause they took him way too soon. Vaya con Dios, mi amigo. Usted será diario faltado.................... E
Whoa Ed, how did THAT happen...Charlie wasn't that old... Sorry to hear of this...RIP old friend... R-
Sorry to hear that, my thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Met Charlie at a few shows in the past, Nice guy.
