From a spectator standpoint, is Saturday a better day to go than Friday?

 

Sixdogs Saturday there is always more cars that Friday. However the spectator crowd is also larger Get there early find a good place to sit by the entrance and you will be able to see alot of the cars coming in. either day you attend you'll see a lot of great rides.

I wish I could see it debut but I'm giving up my only free weekend to go to Orlando

 

We'll be down Thursday on with the Crosley.

 

I'll be there Thursday thru Sunday. It looks like I'll be bringing the Plymouth, as much as I'd sure like to bring the "RAT", but I don't think I could take the 4 hour drive in it.

By the way Denise, "Doc" is coming for sure.

I'm planning to do a 1 day run after the Rolling Sculptures show on friday.

 

WONDERFUL, I can thank him for the trim piece in person with a hug!

Plan on staying in town on Saturday evening and we'll head to this cool BBQ place for dinner.

 

Denise, have you been to the City Barbeque? We have a couple in Dayton and I know there's one in Columbus. They have some the best BBQ up this way. Go there and order the City Sampler. Jen and I split that

Friday has most of the cars, and a lot less spectators. It's alot easier to move around.

 

Have to agree with what others have said, more cars Saturday, less people Friday. I take Friday off from work and take my son. With less people its easier on both of us. I can find him and doesn't get any butts crammed in his face. On a Saturday I have to keep him on my shoulders all day and that gets old.

 

I volunteer to take the group photo again if you are interested.

I haven't taken a car there since I wanted to do more looking and I feared bringing a car would be a hassle and cut down on looking time. Is that true?

 

I will be there on Friday morning. I will be at the meet and great. I am looking for someone that is near Wabash, Indiana that could pick up a overdrive unit and bring it to Columbus or South East Michigan. I will post this in an other thread.

Yeah, of course bringing a car to a car show is a hassle.
Who needs a car to transport their cooler. Paying $8 for a beer is less hassle.
and who needs a car to carry their folding chair? Walking and standing all day is less hassle.
and of course who needs a car there? Walking from the specators parking lot is less of a hassle then parking on the fairgrounds.

Yeah, bringing a car to a car show is so much work and really cuts into my looking time.

Sixdogs I think the gates open at 7:00am. from what I hear there is a line of cars waiting to get in, some arriving as early as 5am. I never get there that early I'm not one who is looking for a prime parking spot. We just shoot for potluck and sometimes get some good spots.

Thanks...I have to stay out of the mid-day sun this year but this is a remarkable show. Early at the gate is the way to go.
For those who mention City Barbeque as a place to eat, I'll second it. Very basic but great chow.

 

I'll be there Friday with my '55 chev pickup. I part just outside of the entrance across the street with some Columbus friends who get there at the crack of dawn! I've tried Saturday, but the crowd really messed up the chance to see all the cars.

 

If you go to City Barbeque, I recommend corn pudding. Yum.

 

Where is City BBQ and what is corn pudding???

Yep, I'm excited! The Iron Pig was a good time last year for sure. The food was delish! And it wouldn't be seeing you guys if there wasn't any Woodford involved!
