Hot Rods Comet/Falcon

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by coololdcars, Feb 8, 2016.

  1. I've talked to a couple vendors about my 65 Comet. They always ask if its a Caliente???? As far as I know its just a 2 door hardtop. Reason I'm asking, is one of the vendors that handles seat upholstery does not list any Comet stuff, but lists 2 door hardtop Falcon kits for the seats. Are the Comet seats the same as Falcon? He just said I don't have anything for Calanties and that was that ???

  3. That's a second; they did my '64 Caliente seats and even had a NOS rear seat cover.

One quick way to tell if it is/was a Caliente or Cyclone,is the dash panels,Cyclones have Black 'Camera Case' applied,Calientes are Wood Grain on top, silver along the bottom. If it has an original Steering Wheel a Cyclone has three spokes,Caliente has two,Cyclone had pleated interior,Caliente had squares! There are MANY other differences, but those are easy!BEST interior going is the link posted above,Jake does BEAUTIFUL work!! Falcons and Comets have the same seat frames with different upholstery. Caliente was a trim line with certain style to it which is why they said it was different.

I got my upholstery from Distinctive Industries. They have a lot of Mustang/Falcon stuff.
