Greetings All, happy to be here. New guy, new to the H.A.M.B. and to the whole traditional hotrod scene. Before my mom and pop divorced, when I was very young, my daddy ran a push truck at the local dirt track and drove a string of Ford rods. I didn't think any of it soaked in. I've known that I always loved the smell of the track, but still couldn't place it. Years ago I started tinkering...first old VW's, then some old Brits and Italians, then moving on to more modern turbo four-bangers, but nothing really keeping me satisfied. My little sister found her niche first, painting gorgeous portraits of beautiful rods and two wheelers, but my fixation with AF blue has slowed me down. A few weeks ago, I was wandering a local BBQ when I found an old shoebox coupe on display...and I realized I'm home. So the search begins...as well as the education. I know almost nothing, and I don't have my baby yet, but I learn fast--and I understand this is where the guru's and the wisemen are! Name is Jim, they call me Skid...and I'm happy to be here!
