That's right, it's July 25th-27th. Won't be long now. Lots of Hambers will be there. I'm talking some real celebrities like the famous BobK who is "rumored" to be signing autographs this year........ Read more info here: http://www.kustomkempsofamerica.com/editorial.htm

I think that I almost had the wife talked into it last night after a couple of beers and good pizza..........but, it is her birthday on the 26th........I even threw out the "BobK" card.......but, then again this is the gal' that wanted to go to Bonneville for a wedding anniversary EVERY YEAR.

We're trying to figure a way to drag the Kopper Kart out there. I'd really love to go and I know Mark and the rest of the gang would too. Hopefully.

  8. I might GASP "trailer" my car out there. I'm still putting it back together.

My favorite show of the year!!!

If you're into real kustoms & hot rods you should be in Salina. We will be staying at the host hotel and the Merc is home and waiting to get up there. I wonder if they will hit the 1,000 car mark this year?

    Happy Trails,

whats the best day to be there? and anyone know if there are any rooms still available in town?.

  21. I'm coming but without the 32. It's coming apart this weekend for a repaint. It would be a miracle if I get it reassembled by then.

I already took friday off. What time do the gates open? I should pre-register. My car isn't really a "custom" but its not stock for sure. can I still play?

7-8 AM normally...Pre-registration will save you $5.00...Lots of non-Kustom cars come in...and hot rods...altho it is mostly kustoms...

Hopefully, I'll be driving the '55 Caddy this year...

Mick, looking forward to seeing your Merc...

I'd say Saturday is probably the best day to be there, if you had to pick one. Have no idea about the rooms. With the number of hotels in Salina, just along the interstate and Highway 81, I'd be surprised if they were all booked up.

There are quite a few hotels within walking distance. From what I remember, it is pretty easy to drive in and out of the show, if you need to.

The host hotel is within walking distance, but it will be a long-ass hot-ass walk. There is a grass lot to park in right across the street from the park (does that make sense?) LOL.:)

I would guess the host hotel is full , its withing walking distance to the park, there is normally some coming and going around the park during the day but Saturday it will be packed with spectators. In an early post , the hotels in the area were listed.
