Hot Rods comp cams 812d-16 lifters

    has anyone used comp cams 812d-16hydraulic lifters with the dlc (diamond like carbon ) coating they say it will eliminate break-in and last much longer with a standard cast cam

    It was my understanding that you don't use the DLC lifters with cast cams unless the cam has been nitride coated...

    Best to call Comp Cams directly and ask their tech guys.

    WHY....don't people call the "manufacturer" with questions like this ???
    They'll have the best answer that you can get.

    You can experiment...from there.

    Sorry Mike, but I can see the ops point here. He may have called Comp and gotten their recommendation, but its always wise to ask for the real life experience of people who may have already tried the product......especially with the current issues camshafts and lifters have caused. :)

    thanks ek i called but ten min is my limit on hold before deciding to try again at another time other manufacturers seem to not have them in stock with the dlc i will keep trying but may look at converting the block to factory roller lifters
