Any thought or possibility of a place where HAMBers could post views, pro or con, about various hot rod businesses they have dealt with? Kind of like an alphabetical business reveiw.

I did a search here and didn't find anything-sorry if it's been brought up 50 times before.

hamb-o-dex is mainly for users to explain what they do, and offer thier professional services, not for reviewing existing fab/aftermarket parts companies and applications as above post was asking about. i think its a great idea about company reviews...the hamb saved me a few times from buying bolt in kits that were way off and a waste of money.

Might become a liability issue if you get people going off on a company on oppinionated items. Look before you leap in a "sue happy" world.

As somebody who works for a large parts distributor sometimes listings like that tend to be very one sided and not so factual. Not against spreading the word about a**holes and such, but alot of times a guy will bash a company for a simple mistake and make it seem like they ****d his dog and stole his wife. Just my 2 pennies worth.

I appreciate the thoughtful comments. Obviously, a single entry might seriously be biased, and Lord knows it's often hard to placate the consumer-a normal, ****py daily part of my business. Still, a trend-lots of HAMBers relating similar experiences- might sway my opinion. There certainly have been pro and con threads on the HAMB General Discussion board. I was just suggesting a place where they could all be viewed together.

As for liability issues, Ryan could post a disclaimer that the views expressed were those of the individual poster, not of the HAMB. Just look at the recent thread on Pete Paulson wheels-can't get wilder than that and it was up for quite a while.

As a manufacturer i would have to agree. I have better customer satisfaction than Geico but it still takes a lot of time to deal with a guy on the net who just doesn't want to tell the whole story. I once heard that the bigger you are the bigger target you are. And this is true. Although my experience has been that about 95% of hot rodders are good guys. To sum up; I guess I,m on the fence about the idea

I have to say that what I have read on the HAMB has influenced my purchases somewaht, but again I know that some of what I have read about the company at which I slave everyday is complete boulder dash. I agree that opinions are good but it is so easy for people to get on an internet forum, where there is no real recourse and no possibility for immediate rebuke or discussion, and rant and curse and swear about a company when in a face to face or voice to voice situation things could be worked out or at least discussed like adults; the internet does not offer that abilty. Sure I could check every email and try to respond, but that is so difficult. There has to be some way though for we HAMB'ers to help each other out.Again just my opinions from my experiences.
