i've actually been here a few times before.......just couldn't remember my other e-mail accounts....this time i won't forget!!! I've got a '64 ford f-100...so far i've sent the axle up to mor-drop for a 4" visit...and then added 4.5" monoleafs...mucho closer to el groundo....the rear...i welded spring perches to the hell side of the axle...dropped about 7-8 inches. It's got a 223 straight 6 but i just got a '64 326 pontiac...that's right PONTIAC!!!! no hidden cd players, no reproduction parts, if it's made after '64 I try my best to avoid putting it on the truck. it's gonna take a long time to ac***ulate the necessary parts but i think patience is a good thing. I'm going for a "shop truck/push truck" look..whatever that is....last words..buy the new lillingtons album and BAGS ARE FOR GROCERIES!!! (and yes i realize that the monoleafs are after '64....fine...strike one!!)
welcome to the hamb...it sounds like you are building a cool ride i wish you had joined earlier and seen who on here could have dropped your axle for you. ther are several on here that do that and give great service..and great products not trying to be an ***..but i have sent two axles to Mor-drop and they came back F'd up.. that was 20+ years ago..maybe they have improved good luck with your project and enjoy... and learn ...like me
the axle was gone for nearly 3 months...the stretch/bend was a little "uneven"..I'm still learning..and one thing i've learned from this axle situation is to take my time, research a lot more, and think things through rather than make "impulse decisions". who here does axle work? thanks 36-3!!!
