What will too much connecting rod side clearance do? Other than loss of oil pressure. Noisy bottom end?

There was a discussion on that on another site..It was figured that the bearing clearence was the oil restiction and up to .030 side clearence was not a problem; I maintain that while oil pressure loss may not be an issue rod/piston stability is especially at bottom of stroke....

I think the bigger concern is not enough than too much. For example minimum is .006 and max is .020 for a flathead. Printer paper is .004 and folded over 4 times is .016. Just a thought.
