I am trying to find con rods 7.25 inches long to fit a 2.25 crankshaft and an inch wide at the big end the wrist pin size is not important. Thanks in advance
Did a little searching in my Connecting Rod Manual and the Clevite catalog. I couldn't find a match to your specs. I've done quite a bit of cross matching in the past. Maybe if you tell us what you've got and what your trying to do we can help you narrow down your search,
This is a link to Crower's con rod inventory and nothing shows with a 7.25 C to C. You may be in custom territory. http://www.crower.com/rod-inventory/ .
find an available rod you can get a custom piston made for is an easier way to go, moving pin location isn't that hard
Eagle rods has a 7.1" rod for stroker assemblies for mopar big blocks. I'm not sure about the other dimensions that you need but it's a start. What application do you need it for. Gives us some more info and maybe we can help some more.
Scat and Eagle both have rods to fit the Big Block Chevy that are 1.000" wide, 2.200" journal but are 7.100", thats as close as you are going to get for an off the shelf rod to suit your needs.
sounds like pro stock size . you may be able to buy the off shelf cat rod and re-size it, open big end to 2.25 from the 2.200 and use an offset bushing on small end w smaller pin size than BBC to get the extra .15" But if you have to get custom made pistons, the slight difference can be made up by moving pin location
jelp, contact a old friend of mine, www.sonnysracingengines.com, he should be able to help, all the best, TR
