Hey guys thanks for the compliments. This software is really for the average joe rodder or builder who wants to see what color combintations look good on his style car. I agree with everyone that this is not a threat to their illustration business. The software does not modify the body work or stretch or chop the top or that stuff.

Jeem - really dig on your work man, so to have you think its cool.... is .... well.... <font color="red"> COOL </font>

bdrake - Yes you <font color="blue">WILL</font> be able to add your own graphics in a future update. You will even be able to print out the vehicle and use it as an overlay to design the graphics, scan in your finished design and see it on the car!

N8inks - I love drawthough.com and have several of their illustration DVD. You can print from the software and it will give you House of Kolor color codes for that combo.

Thanks again guys. I am always a little hesitant to post this stuff here cause I dont want to be accused of spamming since it is software that House of Kolor sells. Just so ya know its only $49.95 for the single vehicle version.

Oh yeah just a side note - we won the NSRA New Product of the Year 2004 with the software

I'm just a little proud of that fact...... later

  2. Totally F'n Cool stuff!!!!! You guys are so talented it makes me cry. I can doodle a bit, but I wish I had the talent that it takes to put down artwork like what you guys are doing, awesome!!!

  3. I didn't paint or draw this, it's a photochop of an illustration in a brochure. Many probably saw it with the poll as to which color to use, babyshit yellow was the winner. It's the plan for my '52.

    Updated 12/21/06
52 is long gone, but the here's a weird idea I had for it
    [IMG]

Just to add a little TECH, In case it isn't common knowledge, 61 Olds tailights fit '52-'54 Fords perfectly (6-1/4") just a little grinder work to bolt them on. even the Ford light pigtail fits in the Olds reflector.

  4. All you guys are my friggin' heroes. I'm seriously in awe of the talent on this board.

bdrake, I'd love to see one of your drawings in wireframe, if you'd let me peek behind the curtain a bit?

(sorry I called you Muscleboy, I did not see your username behind the graphics)
Yes, these are my rides, I have a 40's theme rod I am starting right now. It is going to be really basic and I am trying to keep it low buck, I want to have a shiney finish on it, although I intend to paint it myself because I am on a budget like everyone else. Here are a couple of more shots of the current rides...

bdrake, your paintings are amazing works of art. I have admired many you have shown and only wish someday I could have something so nice hanging on my walls.

Picasso, your concepts are also wonderful but its the details of the complete package of the work I like..

Chopt34, this is the first time I have seen your work, really nice stuff, would like to see more...(and your hotrods rule)

Todd, that program is incredible, how you creatd the flames on the black truck is WOW...

Here’s a quick one I did of my pile of parts assembled.
    What do you think?
    Should I build it?
I have every thing but the dirt car steering gear.

DO IT! Love a T on a narrowed Deuce frame. I've always had it in my head to do an RPU that way.

Oh man, turns my crank! Speaking of which you may want to experiment with height of the dirt car steering crank to get a smooth action. One of the nicest "dirt car" steering pieces I have seen actually came from an old street sweeper!

    Jimmy B,
Nice! I especially like the dark blue fade over the side chrome strip on the Holden ute. The taillights are sharp, too. We don't see many (none, actually) Holdens in the States. And those roadsters, oooooh!

  19. Cheers Rot 'n Kustom, Hawaii apparently had a left hand drive model of the Holden EK don't know if there are many left there though [IMG]

HOLY SMOKES! I don't know how I missed this post the first time around last month but am sure glad it was brought back up to the top. You guys all ROCK! Seeing artwork from fellows that don't post much is a real treat... hell, seeing car related artwork from anyone is really a treat actually!

BDrake, I just put two and two together from this post and realized your the one that I met at the GG Indy show in '02. You are one talented fellow. Sure wish you would post more of your artwork in the Friday Artshow posts.

Chopt 34, "muscle boy"! [IMG] I laughed out loud when I read that and thought to myself, he's not only extremely talented but has a great sense of humor to boot! Then I read where you made an honest mistake in Brush's username [IMG] But guess what, everyone needs a "nickname" that their "buds" can call them and I think "Muscle Boy" suits Brush [IMG] Thanks [IMG] There is a HAMB member that has a newer Vette as a daily driver (I'm not naming names) and alot of his "buds" call him "VetteBoy" even though thats not his online username on any of the car message boards he frequents. [IMG] "MUSCLEBOY"! I like it! xoxoxox [IMG]

Mikes51, you're such a talent! I love the severe edged art you do. That one is super cool.

    N8inks,
Sharp RPU - How did you do that?
I really like that style of illustration. Very spare and sketchy, cuts to the chase style-wise. But also has very nice color and highlights to really make the design pop to the eye.

I did this semikustom concept for HAMBer Wes' 54 Ford a long time a go.

On my wall is an absolutely perfect concept done by Dan Picasso.

As others have said...the talent here is impressive and intimidating!
Chris...I live in Vancouver, and have made the short hop to Amboy. I have seen your beautiful concept work in an area rod shop. I'm curious what promted you to leave the NW area and move to Texas? (this is not a slam to Texas!)

By any chance have we met at the Ash Bash or any of the garage nights with the Slo Pokes?

Anyway the primary reason for leaving the beautiful Pacific Northwest was a opportunity that was hard to turn down. It was a tough decision, but we have never lived in the Southern part of the country so we thought, why not. In the mean time, we have enjoyed Texas, except for a few monthes of the year it has been a really good place to live. Lots of hot rodders and great people. We typically come back to the area to visit friends and follow up on projects I have going on in the Portland and Seattle area shops. I still miss the Northwest, I am sure we will be back one day.

    Thanks for asking.

No, we've not met although I did see you at an Ash Bash one year. Several of my friends are Slo Pokes, but I am not.
Your work is highly regarded in the area, and will be in demand as long as you want to do it!
