Ok, I have a car and I have have concept just need someone to illustrate it... What am I looking at paying on average I guess to have this done... I want front, back, side and inside...SO I can have some inspiration and capture what I want.... any info would help. I am also looking for what to use for the frame swap! The Blue one is mine...the first two pics... Price is going to vary with size. You should get a barage of responses/PM's. This place is just filthy with great Illustrators. Maybe check the HAMB-O-Dex.

if you could get some basic sketches together, scan them, and post them...chances are it won't take long for someone to pick up where you left off. also, you'd probably get to see different perspectives on what you have in your head. i've seen this so many times on the hamb. the artistic talent and generosity around here is amazing. ...and really while you may think you have no talent at all...you may...and it's always a good thing to flesh your ideas out with your own hand at first. i say save your cash for parts.

That is great advice!True that on the talent and generosity as well. I would be working on some sketches right now, for that very purpose if I hadn't smashed my hand with a hammer yesterday
Its good to see someone taking one of the most often overlooked steps in a build. There a number of exteremely talented people here on the HAMB. Prices will vary ( $500.00 to $????? ) but time will be the major influence on the overall cost. If you haven't used an illustrator before I would strongly suggest to do your research. Each artist has a particular style they favor, expirience level , and format they work within. Communication is critical to the completion of a great design. You and your illlustrator have to be skilled in being able to communicate with each other . Trying to communucate what your vision is difficult and can be especially challenging if this is your first project of this type. Check out the Friday Art Show archive. Thats where all of the artists hang out. Theres several years worth of Art Shows in the archive you could be there a while. I have used Janne for two projects and am extremely happy with his work. There have been several offers from some generous HAMB er's. I'm sure theres some great undiscovered talent lurking out there. Its just a matter of deciding what you want , when you want it and what are willing to spend.
I wouldn't presume to know what he's charge you given the scope of your project, but I highly recommend Brian Stupski, aka FlyingPollack here on the HAMB. You can find him in the index. HE did concept drawings for me of my Suburban (SEE AVATAR) and his concept drawing was featured along with my truck in the July )7 Cl***ic Trucks. He's a cl*** act, does awesome work and do a stellar job. Think of it as an important component of your build budget. Beats deciding the idea ****ed after the paint and upholstery!
Amen to that!! paper first. It's always easier to erase a line than to make a new panel. It's also worth learning a bit about Photoshop to quickly try out ideas.
Brian does great work! I have seen a lot of his concepts. There are several of us that do it. It depends on which style you like. Always include as much detail as possible. That way you can get as close to or exact depiction of your idea. DV Portfolio
Wow, thanks, man! I feel all warm now.... You made the job easy, and it was a pleasure whipping up those drawings! As was mentioned earlier in the thread, it's a lot of decision-making at this point... you need to choose an artist you feel comfortable with, and whose style and taste fit your wishes for the project... I always tell people looking to get a rendering and design consultation to look at as many different artists as possible, the choose the ones whose styles you like, and contact them. If the personality is a match for you, go that way... It'll be best for you, the project, your artist, your sanity and your budget! There's a TON of talent on the HAMB, and I'd venture that any one of the fine artists here could be of great benefit. (I had just met Mr. Kaucher last week at SEMA for the first time, and can honestly say, he's every bit as nice and well-spoken as he is talented! 60'coupe's recommendation is spot-on!)

Just want to toss my name in here for doing concepts...did this one and the car actually got built...it's based on a late model T-Bird with vintage '57 front fenders and tails... Sorry, to say, I am booked past the first of the year...and am currently working on a concept of a 2006 Audi A-4 (yeah, I know, not very trad)...but the client wants to see what a "factory challenge" A-4 would look like before he spends his money on the real thing... R-
