condensers

Someone on another forum said they read on H.A.M.B. that there are 6V and 12V ignition condensers. Would someone like to speak to that. I didn't think the condensers cared?

Condenser is a capacitor.
In automotive cl*** in 70s I remember the one teacher saying if the negative points contact is negative material then you're negative capacitance.
So on a negative ground vehicle the points body is ground (negative). If that contact after use has a pit and the moving contact has a "point" then it needs more capacitance. Random ones I've checked over the years vary in capacitance, (maybe from .33 to .47ufd from memory).
6v or 12v the condenser will work.
