I worked on my seat a little more today and beefed it up a little. It's alot more rigid, all thats left is to install some mounting tabs, secure the wood to the frame and add some foam and material.

Let me know what you guys think

Looks swell, I like it a lot.

  3. Kool man, One thing I might have done different is mount the wood for the seat back on the back side of the tubing. I think it might make doing the upholstery easier. Just my point of view not a knock. I like em!

looks neat i think i would use another piece of conduit above the gusset for a really clean look

  5. One more thing. What do you think of taking a piece of conduit and slicing it open and put it on the edge of the gussett. That would give the upholstery a rounded edge instead of the sharp edge that might make the fabric wear through faster.

give the conduit a little radius and slit it to fit over the gusset. make a tab for the plywood to mount to. paint the frames a diffrent color then the upholstery

I thought about that but since the gusset is welded to the outside of the frame I thought it would look wierd. i was thinking about some rubber fuel line or something on that order

Well, I'd post pics of mine but I don't have any. You've seen 'em anyway.
Your seats are looking really good.
I gotta make my way up there sometime to check that thing out.

  11. You need to make the shifter taller.

  12. If you slit the tubing and roll it to the inside it shouldn't hang out past the gussett. Maybe just lay it on the inside like the rest of the frame work. Just a sugjestion.

    I think that looks great.

How thick will the foam be? Your backside may bottom out on the wood occasionally, making for a sore tailbone.

How about cutting a hole in the plywood, and covering it with nylon webbing or canvas or duck cloth or something that has a little give?
