Ditto Dave. I was rootin' for ya! Welcome to the West Coast. & don't hesitate to holler if you need anything,
Congrats dave. Great looking setup on your car and can't wait to hear how it all goes at Socal. You did a great job.
Congratulations Dave. I hope it's your dream come true! I admire how you have always mentioned your family and made them a part of your dreams - Todd
hey Dave, make sure you keep us posted on all that crazy **** that happens out in California. Congratulations dude you deserve it
The job offer was for So-Cal Speed Shop , Right? but what about Blades (So-Cal East ) closer to home.
I haven't checked my Tivo, yet, to make sure it recorded! Congrats buddy! Now that you are a professional, we expect some heavy tech during tech week! Everyone, that's BIG MAN to you, now! Be sure to keep us posted...are you really moving everything?
Wow, you are all way too kind, I am not worthy of such attention..........I went to California with the idea to just be myself and not something that I was not........I did not go to compete against anyone, but to do the best job that I could to help Jimmy accomplish his goals, I approached my short stay in California as a job...It turned out to be alot of work and very fulfilling not to mention a learning experience...Along the way I made some very good friends and met alot of people that I respect..As of now I have not taken the job at So-Cal Speed Shop, I am very greatful for being chosen and honored to be given the opportunity, but I did not go for a permanent job, but rather for more non hollywood personal reasons....My wife and I have established ourselves here in Ohio for the moment, but at the same time we are not wearing horse blinders and want to keep all of our options on the table, we could still end up on the West coast...........If the show goes again and Jimmy needs a short funny looking helper, than I would do my best to help out again, if given the opportunity......We just had too much fun the first time........When the camera was shut off, Ritchie was asked if he wanted to work also, which is what I wanted to see happen, he has been working their and doing well and I am very proud of him........we try to talk often...I feel we are all winners thou, we survived a very challenging and stressful time, and all walked away learning something...Pete would be awsome to work for..........for victory is yours for the taking, you just have to grab it, and he gives you every opportunity to go for it while working for him..Everyone at the So-Cal Speed Shop is the best, and I miss working with everyone of them.......Like I said above, my wife and I have established quite a bit here in Ohio, and its hard to walk away from that at this moment.........At the moment I have no job and find this very foreign to me, I continue to work on my garage and set it up to do battle once again, I have to finish my current project and have several new ideas for the next abomination in my head.........Again I am not worthy of the accolades I have received..........I cannot thank you all enough for the support.........The guys and gals building in the backyard.........are the back-bone to Hotrodding, Dave Littleman Lohr.........and I really need to thank my wife for working double hard while I was gone and for her support......
Well said Dave. Your talent as a builder is only eclipsed by your love and dedication for your family. You have my admiration on both counts. I still think that you should open up your own shop and start putting out some cool Littleman creations. It won't be long until people are beating your door down. Doc.
Wow, I didnt see the show, no cable by choice. i only know Dave through the HAMB and a perverse love of holes in frame rails. Dave, that was a top notch reply. The fact that roots and family mean that much to you..........props dude. May we meet down the road.......Hunnert Car?
Dave, Never met ya. Doubt if I will considering I don't get away much and Nova Scotia is a long way fron Ohio. Already said my congrats but after your post I had to speak up again... Your response shows that all who know you and speak about you on here have you understood fairly well. You are well grounded and considerate of others... family or friends. Good luck with the decison. This all looks very good on you. Can't wait to see the next "abomination in my head" as you put it.
Although this is rather selfish of me, I am slightly relieved that your staying in Ohio. Building your kind of cars, not shackled by others. Congrats man. tc
I think they did it right and I have new respect for you and Jimmie, congratulations, it was done right. Rags
Well, just watched the show last night as it has become a "Friday thing" here. My girlfriend and I DVR the show then watch it Friday after I come home from work. She was just as into it as I was and it would typically take better than an hour and a half for us to watch it (even fast forwarding over the commercials) so we could pause it constantly to discuss our feelings of what was going on. Both of us were disappointed not to see more of Deaths Door Step but hey, I guess the other guys had show their cars a bit too. Oh well. We both knew that Dave was the right guy for the job offer but both us felt his strong ties to Ohio and figured that had been discussed at length when the cameras weren't running so it was a TOTAL surprise to see the job offer given to him. I gotta admit, I don't think I have been so happy to see someone on some TV show get the credit they deserve than I was last night. Very cool ending and congrats to Dave It's almost tough to not feel like a "bandwagon jumper" but the whole reason I joined this forum, after being a lurker for quite some time, was because I found the "Littleman coupe build" in the tech archive and was completely blown away. I figured after seeing it, that if he could contribute so much, I just might be able to help a bit too. Dave definitely has an incredible eye for design and the talent to bring it to life. His demeanor and personality are true signs of good person and I... we (my girlfriend included) truly wish him the best in his decision, whatever that may turn out to be. Good luck in your endeavors Dave, and thank you for sharing your talent with us! I know I can speak for many more than just me by saying this... You have inspired more people than you know in a very major way! Thank you! Regards, Dave
Hey Dave, They can Open So-Cal Ohio! Yes,,,,,,,,,,,,and, I will be your *****. Ha ha! Great response, as someone said "Top notch" Dave Pistons day at Thompson, 9-30-07 Hope to see you there!
Thanks for showing me the way..LOL......I thought it was a job but a Socal job is one of the tops.......again congrats Dave
Dave, I think that you brought something very special to the show, just to see that there are honest, humble people such as yourself still around. The HAMB in general has always for the most part made me feel that way. Great to be apart of it and you included. Good luck on whatever you do dude, and just keep being YOURSELF !
How refreshing that a non-tattooed, non-smart ***, non-big mouth did well based on his skills and being a nice person. I didn't think that happened on TV.
In case you're all wondering, Richie has been working at SO-CAL for a few months now and has become a favorite part of the SO-CAL tours a****st some of the ladies LOL! But aside from that he's also working on a top secret custom car for Billy Gibbons here at SO-CAL and believe me he's kicking *** in the shop. We miss you Dave!
