Cheers to Tim and the Boys from Colorado and their orange Salty Box. Went 188 yesterday, hopped up the blower today and proceeded to loop it on the long course. No foul, no harm (No bite is more like it!!!) Great bunch of guys, glad to meet them. Take care, K
Joyo and I watched a streamliner spin at around the 4 mile marker our last day there. It was graceful from a distance... I imagine terrifying from the driver's seat.
That's awesome! Love that car! I think House (Kiwi Tin Basher) and P-Dub and Tom Cat helped crew on that, too.
Congrats Mad Cad. Through the HAMB I met him in Aspen while visiting our daughter there, last year after Bonneville. Hell of a nice guy, took time out of his day to show us some of the old cars around Aspen, then pushed the Model A out of the shed & fired it up for us. Russell
Nice talking to ya there Keith, glad to hear you did a great speed. The #974 Stude did 3 passes at 244 and some change (about 6 mph short) and nothing we did including more fuel and more boost seemed to do anything. My pal and I left Wed. early and are up in Montana now. Hooley and John headed back sometime yesterday. We had a great time, made some new friends and saw a lot of old friends. Charlie
WOW 188 mph.Like T man said Put enough power in it you can make a brick fly,Cool. Now that is a hot rod!Good going guys.
Don't know how I missed this post,Well all I can say is thanks to Keith and his buddy Butch who gave us some tuning tips for the sedan,we'd never got to 188mph without their input. Probably the best speedweek for Salty Box Racing to date,19 runs,188mph top speed,1 spin,3 drivers qualified for their 'B' licenses, and the sedan qualified for the long course and received its 175 sticker. The sedan will be going on a weight gain diet and put on between 1000-1500lbs in ballast,to plant them rear tires and increase stability.Perhaps a rear spoiler also. Cheers Tim
With enough thrust, you can make a boxcar fly. On the ground, just substitute "forward bite" for "thrust". 188 is damned fast, whatever the shape, but particularly impressive coming from a car that resembles an ammo can more than a bullet.
